Sorting through clothes, I find a number of shirts and trousers that are either in violation of my current circumference or which I never really want to wear anyway. I which case, why have them lying around. Why, indeed, do I have some of these in the first place? Looking at them, I realise I don't even like them. That's how they've managed to be effectively invisible - going through shirts, looking for something to wear, I don't even see the ones I don't want to wear (not in the "want to wear" category), which is why they hang around for year after year until they get eaten by moths (extreme scenario, I know, and hopefully not on the immediate cards) or get water damaged (even more extreme scenario, though it happened once) or they achieve some kind of sentience and leave of their own accord (I don't think that's happened. Can't rule it out completely, though).
