Broken Dust Pan
Broken up even more and chucked on 2nd September 2009
Not even sure what we're still doing with this - although a perfectly good dust pan in its time, the large crack in it rendered it virtually useless. So it's not age, or exoticness or beauty or sentimentality; it must be that other great enemy: inertia. That is to say, once something is cluttering up one's life, it takes an expenditure of energy to get rid of it, which seems more than it's worth to be rid of the object at that moment. On the other hand, if the object is dead weight, the cumulative effect of it will probably be greater than the energy needed to get rid of it.

Either way, this is broken, useless and gone.
